Retired from the Department of Physics, Department of Astronomy, and the Enrico Fermi Institute of the University of Chicago where he was the S. Chandrasekhar Distinguished Service Professor. He is the leading authority on the solar wind and the effects of magnetic fields in the heliosphere.
