The EU’s Global Mission
The EU's success should not be judged only by its GDP performance, but rather by the realization of its founders' dream of securing long-lasting peace through economic integration. Indeed, now more than ever, the world needs the EU to take the lead in promoting fundmanetal values like democracy, social justice, and respect for the environment.

Unease about the EU’s future is, of course, understandable, especially given the uncertainty surrounding efforts to revive the Constitutional Treaty. But the European project has been an enormous success, not only for Europe, but also for the world.
